New Roof at Bishop Baraga Shrine Missionary Center Finally Complete after Two Years of Fundraising
It is with much joy and gratitude that I can finally tell you that our roof and fascia have been replaced at the Bishop Baraga Shrine Missionary Center. I hope many of you will be able to travel to the Shrine sometime to see how nice it looks. We could not have replaced it without the help of so many kind benefactors. We receibved about $4000 more in donations from our last ‘Raise the Roof’, but we also had to get a loan from the bank. I knew we needed the roof now. Waiting any longer would be foolish. The workers said that at one valley the roof was so deteriorated they could ‘see through’. The roof is brown, a color I chose so that, eventually when we stain the building brown, it will resemble the buildings in Bishop Baraga’s native land of Slovenia. It is very lovely. I hope many of you will be able to come to the Bishop Baraga Shrine and see it next year!
